Avatar

What else do i need to say. Basically this movie wasn't just a movie but an experience. First let me commend James Cameron for still being one of the few directors to risk so much money in the production of a movie in the hope for the pay off in the box office. The message of the movie could have not been more basic but the way the characters portrayed the plot added to the movies success. But what really got me hooked from the first few minutes of the movie were the effects. The way everything in the setting had a cohesive connection to everything else, and the way the animals and the people of Pandora were animated and made to look so realistic makes me appreciate the time and effort that went into the production of this movie. But its just not the effects that hooked me into the movie.. its the way they included all those little things that made the movie so great. The different atmosphere of Pandora which caused the indigenous people that live there to breath differently, to the language that the people spoke, to the ponytail connection animal thing.. it just shows how the whole production crew thought of everything. But as all of those things made the movie such a joy to watch, the one aspect of the film that really made me like Avatar was the science and technology. The science in Avatar was something else. The way the science was so advanced that they could make people out of something as simple as DNA or the way people on earth finally made space travel successful, that's what i really enjoyed. Overall this movie deserves a high rating an is going into my group of favorite movies of all time. But for the year of 2009, Avatar and Inglorious bastards has to be my to best picks for movie of the year. All i can say now is you have to see for yourself what i am so excited about.
